What is GDPR and why is it important? 

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a new regulation that will affect the EU. It is the most significant piece of European data protection legislation to be introduced in 20 years and it will come in to force May 25th, 2018. It is designed to significantly enhance protection of personal data for EU citizens and increase the obligations on organizations who collect or process personal data. We are working to become compliant with the GDPR and are excited when it goes into full force on May 25th. Although, the legislation is strict, we believe that it is an opportunity for us to further strengthen the trust that we have with those interested in our product and clients, in addition to an advantage for continuous improvement of our company's overall privacy policy. Privacy is very important to us! Accordingly, we have developed this policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate, disclose, and make use of personal information. Who are we?

We are 3megawatt that provides BluePoint - the first and most complete platform of enterprise-class software designed to automate and control the entire renewable asset management lifecycle.

Information we collect.

3megawatt collects information about you when you request content on our website. We also collect information when you voluntarily contact one of our employees through email, phone or other communication sources.

What information do we collect?

We may collect, store and use the following kind of personal data:

  • Any of the forms on our website collect personal data to strengthen our understanding of your needs for asset management solutions. 

  • We use cookies to help us make your browsing experience more enjoyable and are in the process of developing a cookie banner that is GDPR compliant

  • Any other information that you choose to send us for event bookings, or in response to a job vacancy is also collected. 

What we do with the information we gather

We use this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular, for the following reasons:

  • We periodically send blog updates, newsletters, updates about product features or other promotional emails with information which we think you could find interesting. 

  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, or mail. We use this information to improve our product. 

  • Process job applications (which is deleted after 12 months of inactivity)

  • To provide our services and operate our business

  • Customer support

  • Protecting our services, including combatting fraud and protecting your information

Data recipients

3megawatt will not sell or rent to any third party any of the personal information or data that you provide to us. We use the personal data you provide in a manner that is consistent with this privacy policy and GDPR regulations. If you provide personal data for a certain reason, we may use the personal data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. For instance, if you contact us by email, we will use the personal data you provide to answer your question or resolve your problem and also, if you provide personal data in order to obtain access to the 3megawatt services. If at any time you wish to not receive any future communications or to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, you can easily unsubscribe.

Transferring data outside Europe

As part of the services offered to you through this website, the information which you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside the European Union (EU). By way of example, this may happen if any of our servers are located in a country outside of the EU. These countries may not have similar data protection laws similar to Germany. By submitting your personal data, you are agreeing to this transfer but only after reading and agreeing to our policy. We will take steps to ensure that appropriate security measures are taken with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected as outlined in this policy.

We are committed to ensure that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosures, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. A part of this is - not collecting data from children under the age of 16.

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
